Living With A Creative Mind

Highly creative people have unique vulnerabilities and sensitivities - ways of thinking and temperament that need to be understood and managed – for them to not only stay creative and productive but also stay healthy.

The creative mind is wired with the ability to feel with great depth and passion. Without good strategies for managing this hypersensitivity, instead of creativity the result can be a plunge into the emotional depths. The creative mind is also wired for rapid, fluid thinking, making quick associations but also able to control the flight of ideas in a unique and often surprising way. Rather than trying to live a normal or balanced life creative people can learn to embrace the highs and lows - and begin to see their lives as being like the tides.

In this full day workshop we will address the challenges of living with a creative mind and explore ways to help navigate the tides rather than struggle against them. We will delve into managing a creative mind and living with the creative minded, and we will look at the role of affirmation, having permission to fail, how fear can kill, the need to explore and the need to belong as key principles for living creatively.  We will be taking a closer look at the obstacles preventing highly creative thinkers from living well, as well as exploring an experiential approach to understanding and acquiring the necessary skills for successfully navigating the highs and lows of the highly creative life.
