Product & Supply Chain Coordinator

We believe in making the world a more emotionally intelligence place. Our books, products and overall international retail business are central to our aims. Our range has grown significantly over the last 5 years and we are now hoping to expand further.

We are looking for an experienced product designer who is confident, assertive and a team player to work with the Head of Retail Product to create original and though provoking products. You will be responsible for seeing artwork through to production working with our existing supplier base while also resourcing to ensure quality is high while within budget. 

You will ideally have experience of managing the full supply chain. As well as new development you will oversee all reorders and communication with our suppliers regarding shipping to ensure we remain in stock year-round.

The right candidate will have several years of hands-on experience in a similar role, with a strong background in a product based retail industry. We are looking for someone to become part of our team, who can offer ideas and solutions as well as manage the day to day activity required from this role.

Demand Planner/Merchandiser

We are looking for an experienced Merchandiser who is confident, assertive and a team player to work with the Heads of Retail Product and Sales. You will be responsible for ensuring we have stock available year-round, this will involve forecasting for our many sales channels including domestic and international markets, direct and trade customers. The role will involve improving efficiency throughout all processes including stock management, dispatch and a full ownership of the relationship with our third party warehouse.

You must have previous experience of demand planning and working in a small but fast moving team. This role would suit someone from a start-up company background who is enthusiastic about making the role their own.

The right candidate will have several years of hands-on experience in a similar role, with a strong background in a product based retail industry. We are looking for someone to become part of our team, who can offer ideas and solutions as well as manage the day to day activity required from this role.

Retail Ecommerce / Marketing Manager

We are looking for a smart, creative Retail Ecommerce / Marketing Manager to join our fast-growing team at this exciting time. This is a unique opportunity offering a mix of creativity and analysis. We want someone who can both come up with ideas and analyse performance; who can take a retail product and produce a winning creative launch campaign, set up the product online and track and optimise the sales performance, as well as finding new and creative ways to market the base.

The right candidate will have several years of hands-on experience in a similar role, with a strong background in ecommerce and digital marketing for an online retailer, ideally with a strong visual brand identity. We are looking for someone used to working towards weekly sales targets, who will be comfortable rolling up their sleeves and getting stuck into the delivery of executions as well as bringing new ideas and leading on key strategic areas.

Job Specification

Accountable for: Growing retail sales across online and other channels in the UK, US and Europe.

Reports into: Head of Marketing and Digital

Key responsibilities:

  • Oversee successful set-up and marketing launch of new retail products – campaign theme, creative brief, marketing touchpoints.
  • Manage and maintain the retail website: products, homepages, development suggestions (non-technical).
  • Weekly and monthly reporting on KPIs and performance of executions.
  • Produce e-newsletters and social media to push retail.
  • Suggest and lead on further activities to drive retail sales.
  • Lead on press releases, printed materials, promotions and links to retail from other assets owned by The School of Life, e.g. our blog, classes, SEO, other websites.
  • Work closely with broader Retail team to help market to wholesale customers, on Amazon, and to market our physical store in London.
  • Stay on top of competitor executions and developments and industry best practice and apply these to The School of Life.
  • Work collaboratively with the broader Marketing team and wider business to ensure coherent customer journey across all touchpoints.

Learning & Development Manager (Sales)

Based in: Central London
Reporting to: Head of Learning & Development

Purpose of the Job

The School of Life is an international organisation (www.theschooloflife.com), headquartered in London, dedicated to teaching people in the area of emotional intelligence.
The Learning and Development department at The School of Life work with organisations to help them develop the deceptively hard soft skills they need to succeed and grow.
Our growing client list includes the likes of Facebook, Google, Havas Media, Comic Relief, The Financial Times and Accenture. You can take a look at what we do here.

This is a new role. We are looking for someone with 2-3yrs experience in consultative B2B sales.
You will have a track-record of exceeding targets, as well as being a fantastic people person and highly organized and self-motivated, and excited by the idea of sales and helping to grow our L&D division.
It would be a huge bonus if you have experience in the Learning & Development sector, and a strong interest in and/ or relevant degree in one of our subject area(s) (e.g. in the Humanities – English Literature, Philosophy, History, or Psychology).

Key Responsibilities

Client Acquisition: own an active pipeline of leads and generate new revenues, working to your own individual target
Design and deliver excellent client proposals
Work alongside our client manager to ensure the smooth execution of projects/programmes
Develop creative new marketing and PR incentives
Work with the Head of Learning and Development to continuously refine the department’s sales and marketing strategy

Freelance Business Faculty, The School of Life, New York City

Purpose of the Job

To facilitate The School of Life’s Learning and Development workshops to business clients in NYC.

About The School of Life

Our Learning and Development division helps organisations build emotional maturity in the workplace through the teaching of 20 emotional skills. For each skill, we provide a precisely designed two-hour workshop, and work with clients to create tailored, modular and comprehensive learning journeys.

Our clients include the likes of Facebook, Google, Havas Media, The Guardian and Accenture.

Job Description

Business faculty deliver The School of Life’s workshops to organisations, employing The School of Life’s Teaching Materials and teaching methodology to educate groups of around 30 adults in the skills of emotional intelligence.

You will be supplied with all content materials; we will not use, or require you to develop your own content.

Person Specification

Our faculty come from a wide range of backgrounds, but they tend to share the following:

Essential:

  • Outstanding public speaking skills with a commitment to innovative forms of adult education.
  • A solid understanding of the differences between teaching and facilitating, and the capacity to deliver the latter with large and diverse groups of adult participants.
  • Excellent knowledge of contemporary culture combined with a strong intellectual background.
  • Ability to counsel and console individuals with complex emotional needs.

Desirable:

  • An education in psychotherapy, psychology, philosophy, or related subjects.
  • Experience in a corporate/business background.
Working arrangements

Faculty are all appointed on a freelance basis.
